Gero Michel Leads Panel Discussion at RAA Catastrophe Modeling Conference

Gero Michel, SVP & Head of International Property Treaty for Endurance Specialty Insurance Ltd. led a panel discussion at the RAA Catastrophe Modeling Conference in Orlando, Florida on February 9-11. Featuring discussions with industry executives and the leading modelers on a variety of scientific, engineering and statistical concepts, the conference drew nearly 400 insurance, reinsurance and cat modeling professionals.

Gero’s breakout session, Advanced Track: Future of Cat Modeling: Complementing Software with Lateral Networks and Open Source Strategies addressed the future direction of cat modeling, assessing how community-scale open source projects and the integration of cutting-edge science has the potential to increase market opportunities and create new products and markets, allow further stability in model application, peer-review, and growth.
