Endurance Participates at Casualty Actuaries in Reinsurance Seminar in NYC

Endurance had a strong showing at the Casualty Actuaries in Reinsurance (CARe) seminar on reinsurance held in NYC on May 6 - 7. Michael Angelina, Endurance Chief Risk Officer & Chief Actuary was the panel moderator on two sessions: ‘State of the Market,’ which focused on the current market and views on 2010 and beyond with respect to consolidation, excess capital, pricing trends, and rating agency/ regulatory issues and ‘The Changing Ownership Structure of the Insurance Industry,’ which highlighted the many competing tensions that face company management, and their implications to practicing actuaries. Kenneth J. LeStrange, Endurance Chairman of the Board of Directors participated as a panelist on the second session.

Kimberly Holmes, Endurance Risk Solutions Chief Actuary was also a panelist, participating in the ‘Does Casualty History Repeat Itself? Emerging Risks and Casualty Insurance’ discussion. This session addressed questions on defining emerging risks, the practices employed by the casualty insurance industry to identify and manage emerging risks, common patterns in emerging risks, new methods, technologies, or insurance products being developed to identify and manage emerging risks and the reinsurance industry’s role in managing emerging risks.
