Emily Canelo Honored at International Law Office Global Counsel Awards Dinner

Emily Canelo, EVP and Worldwide Reinsurance Chief Counsel, was honored on June 23 at the 2010 International Law Office (“ILO”) Global Counsel Awards Dinner. The ILO, in association with the Association of Corporate Counsel, launched the Global Counsel awards four years ago to recognize the excellent work done by corporate in-house lawyers and legal teams. Over 3,000 nominations were received.

Emily Canelo was recognized by the ILO as an outstanding lawyer in the regulatory category/ financial services field. Emily was one of five short listed corporate counsels in this category who were honored as in-house counsel for excelling in their specific roles as well as across the full spectrum of in-house counsel responsibilities. The nomination committee focused on criteria such as effective communication, legal understanding, commercial awareness, depth and strength of team and management skills.
